These are standout looks from the 83rd awards, held January 11 at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. “Best” here is an editorial selection, not an official award or ranking.
Selena Gomez brought back Old Hollywood glamour
Selena Gomez paired a deeply side-parted, sculpted bob with a bold berry lip. Allure credits hairstylist Renato Campora with the waved style and makeup artist Hung Vanngo with her makeup. Other coverage described the hair as a 1950s-inspired updo with pin curls, emphasizing how the look balanced a defined silhouette with vintage polish.
Bustle reported that Vanngo used Hung Vanngo Beauty Creamy Matte Lipstick in New York Red over Longwear Lip Liner in Above The Line. Those are reported products associated with this look, not a guarantee that the same combination will recreate it on someone else.
Short cuts took on different moods
Ayo Edebiri’s curled, voluminous bob
Ayo Edebiri’s bob had volume and curled, flippy bangs, offering a softer, retro take on short hair. Bustle also reported that makeup artist Ernesto Casillas used plum and mauve eye shades, echoing the hair’s warm, vintage feel without turning the look into a full period recreation.

Jenna Ortega’s bleached brows
Jenna Ortega’s bleached brows gave her look an experimental edge. Bustle described understated, 1990s-inspired makeup by Mélanie Inglessis using Dior products; Marie Claire noted mauve shadow along the lower lash line and a brown lip. The effect was restrained in its color choices but sharper and more unconventional in its brow treatment.

Audrey Nuna’s sculptural gothic look
Audrey Nuna went in a more dramatic direction with black lips, icy-pink cheeks and sculptural braids. Allure also noted a veil and clear, glass-like nail tips. The contrast between the dark lip and pale cheek color made the look feel deliberately theatrical rather than conventionally red-carpet polished.
Connor Storrie’s shaggy mullet
Connor Storrie traded his familiar curls for a shaggy, retro-inspired mullet. The Associated Press attributed the description to Jenna Rosenstein, beauty director for Harper’s Bazaar, who also singled out the swoopy bobs worn by Edebiri and Gomez. The haircut stood out because it changed his recognizable silhouette rather than simply refining it.

Glossy hair and fresh makeup offered a lighter contrast
Elle Fanning’s sleek part and luminous finish
Elle Fanning wore a sleek middle part and glossy blowout. Bustle reported that the style used products from L’Oréal Paris EverPure Glossing Collection. NewBeauty described her makeup as fresh and light, and named L’Oréal Paris True Match blush in Innocent Flush and Apricot Kiss. These are reported products and shades, not a promise of a matching result.
Fresh-faced choices
Justine Lupe’s beachy waves and lack of mascara offered an easygoing contrast to more sculpted styles. Pamela Anderson also appeared fresh-faced and mascara-free, while Jennifer Lopez chose the opposite direction: a sleek updo with high-glam makeup.

What the 2026 carpet’s beauty looks had in common
Across the selected looks, three useful contrasts emerged: hair shape and texture, makeup emphasis, and overall drama. Bobs appeared as sculpted waves, voluminous curls and swoopy shapes; pixies and a mullet supplied distinct shorter silhouettes. Makeup shifted between statement lips, smoked or colored eyes, and lighter, glowing finishes. Classic references such as Gomez’s vintage waves sat alongside bleached brows and Nuna’s gothic styling.
That range is more meaningful than calling any one look the defining trend. Editorial coverage noted recurring ideas such as glossy or swoopy bobs, short cuts, statement lipstick and luminous skin, but it did not establish how prevalent those choices were across the entire carpet.

A practical takeaway from the red carpet
After the carpet, Rosenstein told the Associated Press: “If there’s one thing you should invest in after this carpet, it’s a really good round brush, a can of hairspray and a statement lipstick.” It is her styling advice, not a tested product recommendation; the looks themselves show how much the same basic tools can vary with shape, finish and makeup.
