They had met on Love Island USA Season 5 the previous August. The anniversary is a 2024 milestone; Peacock reported in May 2026 that the couple were engaged.
What Bergie and Taylor shared for their anniversary
In a report published August 25, 2024, Yahoo Entertainment quoted excerpts from the couple’s Instagram posts. Bergie’s reported caption began, “Happy 1 Year Anniversary to the girl who has made me the happiest for the last 365 Days!” He also referred to long FaceTime calls and trips to visit one another.
Taylor’s reported message looked back on the year as “the craziest most fantastic year I could have ever imagined.” Those lines are excerpts reported by Yahoo, not quotations independently verified against the original Instagram posts.
How their relationship began
The anniversary report says Bergie and Taylor met in the Love Island USA villa in August 2023, during Season 5. Their first anniversary followed a year that included time apart: in a separate February 2025 report, Yahoo republished People’s account of Taylor describing daily FaceTime calls and monthly visits during their long-distance relationship.
