Former West Coast Eagles player Ben Cousins signed a deal with Mix94.5 in 2024 to appear each Wednesday on the Perth station’s Pete & Kymba Breakfast show. The segment was called “Bensday Wednesday” and covered AFL, Cousins’ experience on Dancing with the Stars and other topics raised by hosts Pete Curulli and Kymba Cahill. The arrangement was for 2024; reports in January 2026 described Cousins as a regular guest, but did not say he retained the same weekly slot.
What was Ben Cousins’ Mix94.5 segment?
Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) announced the deal on 20 March 2024. Cousins was to appear each Wednesday on Mix94.5 Perth’s Pete & Kymba Breakfast in a segment named “Bensday Wednesday.” SCA said the conversations would include AFL and Cousins’ journey on Dancing with the Stars, alongside subjects the presenters brought up. SCA’s announcement described it as an exclusive radio deal for 2024; 7NEWS reported the initial agreement ran for the remainder of that year.
Cousins had already made occasional appearances on the show in 2023, including a “Worst Joke Bensday” segment and the station’s 24-hour show. The 2024 announcement made his role more formal. Cousins said he was “stoked to be a regular” and joked that the hosts might put him in unexpected scenarios, recalling that he had been asked to sing Taylor Swift songs live on air.
Who hosted the show?
Pete & Kymba Breakfast was hosted by Pete Curulli and Kymba Cahill. The pair called Cousins an “OFFICIAL friend of the show” after his contract was signed, a playful reference to his earlier appearances.

Is Ben Cousins still on Pete & Kymba in 2026?
January 2026 reports said Cousins would continue with the show as a regular guest. RadioToday, citing an SCA spokesperson, reported he would join the hosts on 19 January to discuss the year ahead. RadioInfo also described him as a returning regular guest, while noting he was not a featured member of the breakfast lineup. Neither report established a detailed 2026 schedule, so the 2024 Wednesday arrangement should not be assumed to continue unchanged.
