Disney’s Beauty and the Beast previewed selections from its musical at Crystal Club on June 24, 2025, ahead of the production’s first Perth performance at Crown Theatre on July 24. The season has ended; the preview report offers a snapshot of the event and the performers who took part.
What happened at the preview
PerthNow reported that the June 24 event at Crystal Club brought together theatre-lovers, socialites and media personalities. Bridget Hustwaite hosted as MC. The report also described floral arrangements, gin and lemonade cocktails, and a grazing board; those details are from the event coverage.
The musical selections included “Change In Me,” “If I Can’t Love Her,” and a duet version of “Beauty and the Beast.” Shubshri Kandiah performed as Belle and Brendan Xavier as the Beast.
How the event related to the Perth season
The preview preceded the musical’s first Perth performance at Crown Theatre on Thursday, July 24, 2025. PerthNow described Perth as the tour’s final stop and the last Australian opportunity to see the production at that time. Ticketmaster’s event listing also identifies Crown Theatre and a July 2025 opening.
Disney Australia’s retrospective production page lists Perth among the national tour cities and says more than 1.3 million Australians were welcomed to “Be Our Guest.” The page does not specify the year for that audience figure. Separately, PerthNow reported that more than 1.1 million tickets had been sold in Australia as of June 24, 2025. These are different measures from different sources and should not be treated as interchangeable.

For the completed 2025 Crown Theatre season, Ticketmaster identified itself as the authorised seller and said ticket prices varied by seat, date and time. Its listing named an Auslan and audio-described performance on September 13, 2025, and a relaxed performance on September 21, 2025. Those dates have passed, and the listing does not establish current ticket availability.
Rank #2
The production’s relaxed-performance visual story said planned adjustments covered the show, foyer and wider experience, including extra staff and dedicated quiet areas. It also noted that production effects and sensory-significant moments remained.
A third-party group-booking page described the Perth production as approximately 2.5 hours including a 20-minute interval, recommended it for ages six and up, and listed theatrical smoke, fog, video projection, unexpected loud noises and strobe lighting. These details applied to the past Perth engagement, not necessarily to another production or future tour.
