The “Barking Dog Man” was Ray Graham, an Australian man whose spontaneous imitation of a dog appeared in a 2010 A Current Affair report about dangerous dogs near his home. The unexpected moment drew attention online after CNN covered the clip’s circulation through blogs, a Facebook page and remixes.
Who was the Barking Dog Man?
Ray Graham was the interviewee CNN called “Psycho Dog Man.” The nickname “Barking Dog Man” refers to the same person and the same Australian television interview.
The story is not about Man Ray, the Weimaraner associated with artist William Wegman. That is a separate subject; CNN’s 2010 reports identify Graham as the man in the viral interview.
What happened in the interview?
A Current Affair visited Graham’s suburb outside Sydney to report on two dangerous dogs in his neighborhood. Graham described the dogs bounding toward him, then demonstrated the growl or bark he associated with them. In CNN’s account, the imitation became an unexpectedly comic moment within a local-news report about the dogs.

How did Ray Graham’s clip spread online?
CNN’s April 2010 coverage described the clip appearing on blogs, a Facebook page being created and Graham’s imitation being remixed. Those reports document the clip’s early online circulation, but do not establish a reliable view count or other audience statistic.
