How did this differ from her earlier Oscars performance?
Streisand also performed “The Way We Were” at the 2013 Oscars, in tribute to composer Marvin Hamlisch. The Academy’s announcement at the time called it her first time singing on the Oscars broadcast in 36 years. The two appearances had different tribute subjects and contexts:
