Here are the voice actors behind Baldur’s Gate 3’s central companions, narrator and headline antagonists. “Main characters” here means the six authored Origin companions, other notable recruitable companions and the three major villains listed below—not every named character in the game. Larian’s official full-cast credits cover a much larger ensemble.
Origin companions
Larian describes seven Origin heroes, but one is the player-created protagonist rather than a single authored character with one fixed actor credit. The six authored Origin companions and their credited performers are:
| Character | Voice actor |
|---|---|
| Astarion | Neil Newbon |
| Shadowheart | Jennifer English |
| Lae’zel | Devora Wilde |
| Wyll | Theo Solomon |
| Gale | Tim Downie |
| Karlach | Samantha Béart |
The seventh Origin hero is the custom protagonist, whom players create; there is no one actor credit for that player-defined character. Larian’s official game page describes the game as featuring “7 unique Origin heroes.”
Other notable companions
| Character | Voice actor | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Halsin | Dave Jones | Recruitable companion |
| Minthara | Emma Gregory | Recruitable companion |
| Jaheira | Tracy Wiles | Returning companion |
| Minsc | Matthew Mercer | Returning companion |
Narrator
| Role | Voice actor |
|---|---|
| Narrator | Amelia Tyler |
The Narrator is a distinct role, not a companion character.

What the official credits cover
These pairings follow Larian’s full-cast page, which also credits performers with multiple roles. For example, Theo Solomon, Dave Jones and Emma Gregory each have additional credited parts; the list above identifies their roles relevant to this guide. The table is a focused selection, not a complete cast list, and Larian does not state a total cast size on the page.
The Dream Visitor is credited to both Diana Bermudez and Ethan Reid on Larian’s cast page, so the role should not be assigned one universal voice actor.
