The chemistry does not erase the disagreement
The pairing is most persuasive when the film lets attraction and disagreement coexist. Vaidehi is not simply a prize for Badrinath to win, and his pursuit is not automatically evidence that he understands her. Bhatt gives Vaidehi a clear sense of purpose, while Dhawan makes Badrinath’s confidence—and the limits of his perspective—part of the performance. Together, they make the romantic premise watchable even when the characters are not on equal footing.
Where does the gender-role conflict succeed—and falter?
Vaidehi’s career ambition is not a decorative detail: it is the measure of whether the relationship can become a partnership rather than an arrangement on Badrinath’s terms. The film recognizes that tension and makes it the engine of the story. That gives the romance a useful source of friction, but also sets a demanding standard for its conclusion.
The screenplay is more convincing when it shows the difference between wanting someone and respecting what they want. Its resolution has to reconcile Badrinath’s growth with Vaidehi’s agency, and the emotional payoff is less secure when that reconciliation feels tidier than the conflict that preceded it. The film is therefore strongest as a lively performance-led romance with an unresolved edge, rather than as a fully satisfying argument about equality.
