Those reports described WWE hopes and discussions—not a confirmed booking. A July report about a possible Bad Bunny appearance concerned AAA, a different wrestling promotion.
What did the February 2026 reports say about Bad Bunny returning to WWE?
On Feb. 8, Puerto Rican outlet Primera Hora reported Bryan Alvarez’s prediction that Bad Bunny would return to WWE “very soon.” That was Alvarez’s prediction, not an announcement from WWE or Bad Bunny.
On Feb. 19, Sports Illustrated’s The Takedown reported that WWE hoped to involve Bad Bunny around WrestleMania 42 and that a match might be arranged if he was available. The story also discussed Logan Paul as a possible opponent. Paul said talks about wrestling Bad Bunny had been floated and that he would welcome the match. His comments describe interest, not a finalized bout. Sports Illustrated’s report does not establish that a match was booked.
What is Bad Bunny’s WWE history?
Bad Bunny has appeared in WWE before. WWE’s official profile describes his 2021 involvement and identifies him as a former 24/7 Champion. He also wrestled Damian Priest at Backlash 2023; the profile links to that match.

Does the later AAA report mean he is returning to WWE?
No. The July 5, 2026 report concerns AAA, not WWE. F4WOnline described an on-air exchange in which JBL asked AAA general manager Rey Mysterio about bringing Bad Bunny to AAA. Mysterio replied, “We’re working on that as well.” F4WOnline also reported that Bryan Alvarez confirmed there was something to the tease. That points to a possible AAA development; it does not confirm a WWE appearance or match. F4WOnline’s report is about the separate promotion.
Was the Super Bowl performance connected to WWE plans?
No connection was established in the reports. At an Apple Music press event on Feb. 5 ahead of Super Bowl LX, Bad Bunny discussed his halftime performance, saying, “It’s going to be a huge party,” and that he wanted to bring his culture to the stage. The Associated Press’s account of the event does not link those comments to WWE.
