Yes. After his February 21, 2026, performance in São Paulo, Bad Bunny and his party flew to Sydney aboard a one-off Qantas A380 charter. The aircraft, VH-OQA, had first flown empty from Sydney to São Paulo; its return flight was planned with an Auckland stop but ultimately travelled nonstop to Sydney. This was not a scheduled passenger route.
Did Bad Bunny charter a Qantas A380?
Aviation reporting identifies Qantas A380 VH-OQA as the aircraft used for the trip. It flew from Sydney to São Paulo as QF6043 on February 22, 2026, then returned as QF308 on February 23 carrying Bad Bunny and his party. Flightradar24’s retrospective describes the return as a one-off direct charter linked to his tour: Flightradar24’s route overview and its later retrospective.

The schedule fit the tour: Bad Bunny performed in São Paulo on February 21 and was due to play Sydney on February 28 and March 1. The reporting supports saying he and his party travelled on the A380, but does not establish that the aircraft carried all of the tour’s equipment.
How did the flight work?
Outbound: Sydney to São Paulo
VH-OQA flew from Sydney (SYD) to Guarulhos (GRU) as QF6043 on February 22. One Mile at a Time reports a 10:28 p.m. local departure and an 11:18 p.m. arrival after 14 hours 49 minutes. It describes this leg as a ferry flight: the aircraft was being positioned in São Paulo ahead of the charter return.

Return: São Paulo to Sydney
The aircraft departed São Paulo on February 23 as QF308. An Auckland stop appeared in the flight plan, but the plane ultimately flew nonstop to Sydney, arriving on February 24. The São Paulo–Sydney leg took about 16½ hours: One Mile at a Time reports 16 hours 27 minutes, while Flightradar24 records 16 hours 28 minutes. The one-minute difference is consistent with differing tracking or reporting conventions.
Why was a nonstop flight unusual?
The charter was unusual because scheduled connections across the South Pacific did not provide a regular nonstop Brazil–Australia service. Flightradar24’s April 25, 2026, overview says Brazil had no nonstop flights to Australia or New Zealand, with scheduled South American connections to Oceania centred on Chile. The A380’s nonstop São Paulo–Sydney flight was a one-off operation, not a route travellers could book as regular service.

The flight numbers also help distinguish the two legs. One Mile at a Time identifies QF6043 as the positioning flight and QF308 as the charter return. The New Daily quotes aviation journalist Paul Hartley explaining that Qantas 6xxx flight numbers are commonly associated with nonscheduled charter or positioning flights. That context supports the distinction, though the flight’s one-off status is established by the reporting on this specific trip.
How much did the Qantas A380 charter cost?
No verified contract price has been published in the cited coverage. The New Daily relayed an aviation journalist’s estimate of US$1.5 million, based on an assumed US$40,000 hourly rate and stated cost components. UOL reported an estimate of about R$6.5 million. Both are reported estimates, not confirmed amounts paid by Bad Bunny; the sources do not disclose an invoice or contract.

How many people were on board?
Published figures differ, and the reporting does not provide a reconciled passenger manifest. One Mile at a Time relays 223 passengers plus 22 crew; Flightradar24 describes Bad Bunny and 244 other passengers; UOL reports 244 members of the team. Those figures may count different groups, so “Bad Bunny and his party” is the most defensible description without choosing one total.

One Mile at a Time identifies the aircraft as VH-OQA and gives Qantas’ A380 configuration as 485 seats: 14 first-class, 70 business-class, 60 premium-economy and 341 economy seats. That is the aircraft’s stated configuration, not a confirmed count of people aboard the charter.
