Set up the workflow and verify it before relying on it
With MediaLive
- Prepare the prerecorded file as the MediaLive file input.
- Set the file input’s source end behavior to
LOOP. The documented behavior is that MediaLive ingests the file again from its beginning at end of file; this is the part that creates repetition. - Configure the rest of the MediaLive channel and output for your chosen delivery path. The file-loop setting by itself does not supply the YouTube destination.
- In YouTube Live Control Room, obtain the server URL and stream key for the stream. Enter the destination details in the relevant output configuration. Prefer the RTMPS endpoint if supported by the configured encoder.
- Start the channel and verify in YouTube that video and audio arrive, then confirm the source starts again at the file’s end. The AWS file-loop documentation does not guarantee a particular end-to-end YouTube architecture or transition behavior.
With Ant Media Server
- Upload or make the MP4 VoD files accessible, then create a playlist using the Ant Media playlist workflow.
- Configure the playlist as the prerecorded live stream. If continuous repetition of a playlist or a single file is required, confirm the exact repeat behavior for your Ant Media version and edition; the cited version 3.1 guide does not establish endless repeat.
- Add YouTube as an RTMP restream destination using the YouTube endpoint and stream key from Live Control Room.
- Include an audio track. Ant Media’s restreaming guide warns that YouTube does not accept a stream without audio.
- Start the stream and check the YouTube preview and the transition at the end of the source or playlist before treating it as unattended.

Compare the full operating cost, not just the software line item
MediaLive charges depend on running inputs, outputs, and add-on features; rates vary with configuration. For a useful estimate, include region, codec, resolution, frame rate, number of outputs, and how long resources run. AWS’s Live Streaming on AWS deployment guide gives an example of $69.74 for a one-hour event, assuming approximately 1,000 viewers, a one-hour SD-540p event, US East (N.
