The “27-strong” Avengers: Doomsday cast was Marvel’s initial announcement, not a confirmed final roster. D23 named 27 performers on March 26, 2025; Disney’s current U.S. film page displays 30, and Hayley Atwell was separately confirmed to return as Peggy Carter in July 2026. Missing names—including Tom Holland and Hugh Jackman—should be treated as unconfirmed, not ruled out.
Who was in the original 27-person announcement?
D23’s March 26, 2025 announcement named these 27 performers. Robert Downey Jr. was included in the announcement after having been announced previously. This is the cast as listed at that moment, not a final headcount.
- Chris Hemsworth
- Vanessa Kirby
- Anthony Mackie
- Sebastian Stan
- Letitia Wright
- Paul Rudd
- Wyatt Russell
- Tenoch Huerta Mejia
- Ebon Moss-Bachrach
- Simu Liu
- Florence Pugh
- Kelsey Grammer
- Lewis Pullman
- Danny Ramirez
- Joseph Quinn
- David Harbour
- Winston Duke
- Hannah John-Kamen
- Tom Hiddleston

- Ian McKellen
- Alan Cumming
- Rebecca Romijn
- James Marsden
- Channing Tatum
- Pedro Pascal
- Robert Downey Jr.
D23’s announcement is the source for this dated list.
How has the announced cast changed?
The later records do not form a single definitive, exhaustive roster. Disney’s current movie page displays 30 performers, while a separate Disney report confirmed Hayley Atwell’s return. These are different source snapshots, so Atwell should not be silently added to the page’s 30-name list.

Are Tom Holland and Hugh Jackman in Avengers: Doomsday?
The cited coverage does not confirm either actor’s participation or exclusion. The Associated Press noted that Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool, and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man were absent from the original 27-person announcement, while allowing that Marvel and Disney could be holding names back. A name missing from that first announcement is not proof that its character will not appear.

In a September 25, 2026 Q&A, co-director Anthony Russo said, “The cast is so large, and we’ve announced some of the cast, and we haven’t announced some of the cast.” He added, “I get confused myself over who we’ve announced and not announced, so I have to just slow down.” GamesRadar reported the remarks and noted continuing fan questions about Jackman and Holland. The comments support a distinction between announced and unannounced cast; they do not identify the remaining performers.
The Associated Press report discussed names absent from the first reveal. GamesRadar’s September 2026 report covered Russo’s later remarks.

Its synopsis says heroes from three distinct universes will collide to face an existential threat. The page’s cast display is a useful current reference, but Disney has not established through these sources that it is the final, complete cast list.
