Attack on Titan The Movie: THE LAST ATTACK is not a new season or a continuation of the story. It brings together the final two parts of the anime’s last season as one 145-minute feature. The film opened in Japan on November 8, 2024, and later reached international theaters and Crunchyroll.
What returned—and what did not
The “one last time” return was a theatrical compilation of the anime finale, not a fresh chapter in the story. THE LAST ATTACK combines the final season’s last two parts into a single feature, turning a conclusion released in installments over several years into one movie-length presentation. Gizmodo reported a runtime of 145 minutes when covering the announcement in August 2024.

Series director Yuichiro Hayashi said he had storyboarded the final season while imagining it watched as one movie. He described the theatrical version this way: “Having the opportunity to have everyone watch it in the best possible environment, the theater, is a dream come true for me.” (Gizmodo)

Japan
The film opened in Japanese theaters on November 8, 2024. That date was the original Japanese theatrical release, not an upcoming event.

International theaters
Crunchyroll later announced theatrical releases in early 2025 for Australia, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Poland, Spain, Sweden, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The announcement also said other selected Latin American countries would be announced. Its release announcement is the source for those territories.
Streaming
Crunchyroll’s watch page lists the film as released on April 18, 2025. That listing does not guarantee access in every country; check the service in your location for current availability.
What to know about the 4K UHD Blu-ray
The official Japanese franchise portal announced a Japanese 4K UHD Blu-ray release dated January 21, 2026 (official announcement). That announcement establishes a Japanese release, but does not confirm whether an English-language or region-compatible edition is available. Before buying, verify the specific listing’s region compatibility, audio and subtitle tracks, and current stock. The cited announcement alone does not establish a technical picture or sound advantage over other versions.

- For online viewing: start with Crunchyroll’s listing, then confirm that it is accessible in your region.
- For a physical copy: treat the 4K UHD announcement as specific to Japan unless a seller or distributor confirms the details of the edition you are considering.
The available release information identifies the film’s format and distribution milestones, but does not provide a detailed technical comparison with the previously released episodic or special versions.
