The names and operational details differ between launch coverage and current documentation.
What Chive Trivia was at launch
TVNewsCheck reported on December 19, 2023, that Chive Trivia was debuting across Atmosphere’s business television platform. The format connected the venue’s TV screen to players’ phones: scan the on-screen QR code, join through the companion iOS or Android app, then answer questions during a synchronized game. The launch coverage described venue and global leaderboards, streak and rivalry callouts, and in-game power-ups, sabotages and defenses. GamesBeat reported on the launch a day earlier, on December 18, 2023.
Atmosphere CEO Blake Sabatinelli described the aim as making TVs typically used for passive viewing part of a shared entertainment experience. GamesBeat also quoted him describing Chive Trivia as a way for friends, peers and global participants to engage through venue entertainment.
TVNewsCheck and GamesBeat reported a launch-era reach of 60,000 bars, restaurants, gyms and other select U.S. venues. That is a December 2023 figure from launch coverage, not a current audited venue count. Launch coverage also said daily games against national players with cash and prizes would begin in 2024; that was a plan announced at launch, not confirmation of the schedule now in operation.

How Atmosphere Trivia works now
Atmosphere’s help center currently uses the name Atmosphere Trivia. It says the channel runs 24/7: a customer scans the QR code displayed on the venue TV, uses the free app as a controller and answers 10 questions on a phone. Venue and global leaderboards appear on the TV. The Google Play listing also uses the name Atmosphere Trivia, identifies Rarefied Atmosphere, Inc. as the developer and describes the app as a companion to the TV experience; it lists July 4, 2026, as the app’s update date.
For a business that already has Atmosphere TV, the help center says Trivia can be selected on its existing device without special equipment. The help article says the channel is included with Atmosphere TV at no additional charge; this describes the cost of offering Trivia to an existing customer, not the total price of subscribing to or acquiring Atmosphere TV.

Naming is not consistent across Atmosphere’s own materials: its help center and app listing say Atmosphere Trivia, while its enterprise channel page lists both Atmosphere Trivia and Chive Trivia. The reviewed sources do not explain whether Chive Trivia was renamed, remains a separate channel, or is listed under both names.
What the current help article says about prize games
Atmosphere’s help article describes Takeover Games twice weekly and identifies Global Prize Games every Thursday at 9 p.m. Eastern. It lists prizes of $300 for first place, $150 for second and $50 for third, and says winners are contacted by text. These are the schedule and prize details shown in the reviewed help article; game times and prizes may change, so they should not be treated as permanent terms.

What venues can show to players
Atmosphere’s digital-signage documentation says venue creative can appear both on the TV and in the trivia mobile experience for players who joined at that venue. A mobile call-to-action button can be added. Players joining globally do not see venue-specific signage. This documents an advertising and signage capability, but it does not establish a measured increase in sales, dwell time or other business outcome.
Separately, an Atmosphere company blog post dated February 26, 2025, described branded Chive Trivia—with venue logos and colors—as “Coming Soon.” That announcement establishes what the company said was planned at that time; it does not show that every branded-game option has since launched.

What is not established
Atmosphere positions its wider platform for enterprise businesses, including bars, gyms and restaurants. The reviewed sources do not provide a current audited count of Trivia participants, independently measured advertising results, or quantified revenue or dwell-time gains. They also do not establish an affiliate or referral program or compensation terms for recommending the service.
