Reports in August 2024 said that footage from Arcane Season 2 had appeared online before its official Netflix release. TheWrap reported that five episodes surfaced on social media, while Netflix said a post-production partner had been compromised and it was working to remove leaked footage. The reported count does not mean the entire season leaked, or that all five versions were complete episodes.
What happened in the Arcane Season 2 leak?
The reports concerned pre-release footage in August 2024. In its August 8 report, TheWrap reported that five Season 2 episodes had appeared on social media. That is a reported count of episodes appearing online, not evidence that every episode in the season was released or that the material was complete and polished.

A Netflix spokesperson told TheWrap: “One of our post-production partners has been compromised and footage from several of our titles has unfortunately leaked online.” The spokesperson added: “Our team is aggressively taking action to have it taken down.” Netflix did not identify the partner in the quoted statement.
Were the leaked episodes complete or watchable?
A ComicBook.com report, updated with comments from a Riot Games spokesperson, described the leaked versions as low quality, incomplete, and having poor audio. That is an attributed description of the leaked copies, not an independent inspection of every file reported online.

Is Arcane Season 2 streaming on Netflix now?
Yes. Netflix’s official guide identifies Season 2 as the series’ final season and says both seasons are streaming. The August 2024 leak was a pre-release event; it is not a new leak announcement. Netflix availability can vary by territory.
What is Arcane about?
Arcane is an animated series based on League of Legends. Netflix’s guide describes it as the origin story of champions Vi and Jinx, set amid conflict between the cities of Piltover and Zaun. Season 1 received four Primetime Emmy Awards and nine Annie Awards in 2022, according to the Netflix Media Center. Those awards recognize Season 1, not Season 2, and have no bearing on the scope or quality of the leak.
