Annette Bening and Sam Neill lead a cast that also includes Alison Brie, Jake Lacy, Conor Merrigan-Turner, Essie Randles and Georgia Flood. The series shifts between the present and the events leading up to Joy’s disappearance, and it changes several characters and family details from Liane Moriarty’s novel.
Who is in the Apples Never Fall cast?
The central family consists of Joy and Stan Delaney and their four adult children. Georgia Flood plays Savannah, the wounded young woman who arrives at the Delaneys’ home and becomes part of the mystery.

What is the story, and how is it told?
Joy and Stan have a tennis background and take in Savannah. Later, Joy disappears, and Savannah is also absent. Police question Stan while the four adult siblings struggle to decide whether their father is innocent. The show tells the story across two timelines: one follows the family after Joy goes missing, while the other traces events leading up to her disappearance. Earlier tensions and secrets shape how the family interprets what is happening in the present. The Associated Press describes the series premise and its two timelines.
How does the series differ from the novel?
The television adaptation changes the family’s location, sibling order, occupations and relationship circumstances. In particular, do not transfer the novel’s birth order to the series: Troy and Logan switch places as the oldest son and third child.
