APCA’s Popular Music jury selected 50 albums released in Brazil’s first half of 2025. The list, published by TV Cultura on July 23, is alphabetical—not a ranked countdown—and is distinct from APCA’s later year-end pool of 100 albums.
What APCA’s 2025 list covers
The July selection represents the first six months of 2025. TV Cultura reported that the jury planned a second-half selection, with the two groups forming a 100-album pool for the annual award. In January 2026, juror Guilherme Werneck confirmed that the year-end pool had expanded to 100 albums after the jury considered more than 1,000 records during the year. He said APCA’s annual album selection had been 50 records since 2017.

The first-half report spans rap, MPB and pop, and highlights both emerging and established artists. Juror Cleber Facchi described the period as unusually active: “Desde o início da pandemia de covid-19 que não vivíamos um primeiro semestre tão movimentado na música brasileira” (“Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, we had not experienced such a lively first half-year in Brazilian music”).
