Paramount released the official trailer for Apartment 7A on August 29, 2024, introducing a story set in 1965 New York—before Rosemary moves into the Bramford. Rather than retelling Rosemary’s Baby, the psychological horror film follows dancer Terry Gionoffrio, whose shot at a career comeback draws her into the building’s sinister past.
What the trailer’s backstory is about
Paramount’s synopsis centers on Terry Gionoffrio, an ambitious young dancer whose aspirations are derailed by a devastating injury. A wealthy older couple welcomes her into their home in the Bramford, a luxury New York apartment building. A fellow resident, an influential Broadway producer, then offers Terry another chance at fame.

After an evening she cannot fully remember, disturbing events make Terry question what she is willing to sacrifice for her career. She comes to believe that something evil is in Apartment 7A—and in the Bramford itself. That is the official premise behind the trailer’s satanic-horror framing; Paramount’s published synopsis does not explain the supernatural rules or provide a scene-by-scene account of the trailer.
How Apartment 7A connects to Rosemary’s Baby
The film is set before the events associated with Rosemary’s arrival at the Bramford, shifting the focus to Terry and an earlier chapter in the building’s history. Paramount identifies Ira Levin’s novel Rosemary’s Baby as the source material. The connection established by the official description is therefore chronology, setting, and the shared story world—not a claim about how closely the film adapts the novel or how it compares in quality.
