Apartment 7A is a 2024 psychological thriller about Terry Gionoffrio, an ambitious dancer whose career is derailed by injury and whose chance to start over brings her to the Bramford. Set in 1965 New York, the film tells a story that takes place before the events of Rosemary’s Baby.
What is Apartment 7A about?
Terry Gionoffrio, played by Julia Garner, is a dancer determined to succeed. After a serious injury disrupts her ambitions, an older, wealthy couple offer her help and welcome her into the Bramford, the New York apartment building at the center of Rosemary’s Baby. The new home and the couple’s attention draw Terry into the film’s psychological thriller story.
Paramount describes the movie as set in 1965 New York City and says it explores what happened at the Bramford before Rosemary moved in. Paramount’s announcement identifies Ira Levin’s novel Rosemary’s Baby as the film’s basis.
Is Apartment 7A a prequel to Rosemary’s Baby?
Yes. It is a prequel story set in the same story world, before Rosemary moves into the Bramford. The film follows Terry rather than retelling Rosemary’s story, so its central character and plot are distinct from those of Rosemary’s Baby.
