How Bea and Ben end up at the same wedding
Bea and Ben first meet in a Boston coffee shop. They hit it off, but a misunderstanding turns their attraction into hostility. Months later, they are both invited to the Sydney wedding of Claudia and Halle. Their plan to pose as a couple serves different purposes: Ben wants to make Margaret jealous, while Bea hopes to head off her parents’ attempt to get her back together with Jonathan.

Is Anyone But You based on Shakespeare?
Netflix Tudum describes the screenplay as loosely based on William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing. That is best understood as an inspiration rather than a claim that the film directly reproduces every character or plot point from the play. Sweeney told Tudum that writer Ilana Wolpert gave Shakespeare a “cool, modern twist.”
