Their wedding made the grounds part of the celebration: vows beneath apple trees above a wooded glen, followed by dinner beside a wildflower field and dancing barefoot on the grass. A wedding feature attributed the couple’s choice to the home’s importance to their families and friends, as well as its natural setting.
Why the couple chose Beanfield
In the feature’s account, Beanfield was more than a scenic venue. Starke described it as a communal home base for the couple’s family and friends and said they could not imagine marrying anywhere else. She also said they were drawn to the property’s natural beauty. That combination of personal history and landscape shaped the day’s relaxed, family-centered character.
A country-inspired June wedding
Starke described the desired look as “simple, country-inspired chic, with an emphasis on the June season.” The feature characterized the result as a “bohemian BBQ”: garden flowers and thoughtful details set against an informal outdoor celebration.
An outdoor ceremony beneath the apple trees
The ceremony took place beneath two apple trees overlooking a wooded glen. The report describes an arch woven with foliage, white delphinium, garden roses, Queen Anne’s lace, and vines, while a string quartet played. Starke wore a long-sleeved lace gown by Monique Lhuillier, along with her mother’s diamond studs, pieces from her great-grandmother, and a flower crown.

Dinner by the wildflower field, then dancing
For the reception, a dinner tent stood beside a wildflower field. Long tables were dressed in white linens and decorated with candles and flowers. Fireroasted Catering prepared food over open flames, bringing the barbecue element into the meal rather than treating it as a purely decorative theme.
After dinner, guests danced barefoot on the grass beneath strings of old-fashioned bulbs, with hundreds of lanterns illuminating the setting. The feature reported 268 guests; its publication year is not established in the indexed result, so the count is best understood as the report’s figure rather than an independently confirmed total.

What made the at-home setting work
Beanfield’s role in the wedding offers a useful planning lesson: the property’s meaning and the way guests would use it were central to the concept. The ceremony and reception also relied on different parts of the grounds, letting the wooded glen create a quieter backdrop for vows and the field-side tent accommodate dinner and dancing. The report names David Stark Design & Production, Fireroasted Catering, photographer Corbin Gurkin, and Monique Lhuillier among the creative and service contributors.
The feature also notes that the day was intensely hot and humid. Starke recalled that the couple partied through the heat. For anyone adapting the outdoor approach, that detail underlines the importance of planning around guest comfort and weather exposure as well as scenery.
