There are not five distinct Anna Delvey documentaries or podcasts verified here. These four options span reported audio, a behind-the-scenes companion podcast, a scripted drama, and an interview feature—formats that should not be mistaken for one another.
What documentaries and podcasts are about Anna Delvey?
For reporting that directly covers Sorokin’s story, start with BBC Radio 4’s Fake Heiress or look for ABC News’s 20/20 interview feature. The other two options are related to the case but are not independent documentaries: one is a podcast about making a television drama, and the drama itself is scripted.
| Title | Format | What it offers |
|---|---|---|
| Fake Heiress | Hybrid audio series | Reported, dramatized, and interview-based account of Delvey’s rise and fall |
| Inventing Anna: The Official Podcast | Making-of companion podcast | Behind-the-scenes discussion of the Netflix series |
| Inventing Anna | Scripted limited series | Nine-episode dramatization inspired by reporting |
| 20/20: Anna Sorokin interview feature | Interview-led television feature | Anna Sorokin interviewed by correspondent Deborah Roberts; current episode details and availability are not established here |
1. Fake Heiress (BBC Radio 4)
Journalist Vicky Baker reports the series, with dramatization by Chloe Moss. Apple Podcasts describes it as combining documentary, interviews, and drama. That hybrid approach makes it a useful audio account, but not a purely straight-reporting documentary.
2. Inventing Anna: The Official Podcast
This is an official companion to Shondaland’s Netflix series, focused on how the show was made. Apple’s catalog description identifies an episode featuring the real Neff Davis. Choose it for production context and a connection to someone represented in the drama, not as an independent investigation of Sorokin’s case.

3. Inventing Anna (Netflix)
Inventing Anna is a nine-episode scripted limited series inspired by Jessica Pressler’s New York Magazine article, “How Anna Delvey Tricked New York’s Party People.” Netflix describes the story through a journalist investigating Anna Delvey. The series is a dramatization, not a documentary, and its tongue-in-cheek disclaimer acknowledges invented elements. Viewers who want the reporting behind the premise should read Pressler’s article as a separate source. Netflix availability can vary by region and change over time.
4. 20/20: Anna Sorokin interview feature
ABC News published coverage of Sorokin’s interview with 20/20 correspondent Deborah Roberts. It is a potentially useful interview-led viewing option, but the episode title, a current episode-level catalog listing, and present streaming availability are not confirmed here. Check ABC’s current listings before relying on it as a watchable full documentary.

Is Inventing Anna a documentary?
No. It is a scripted Netflix limited series inspired by Pressler’s reporting. Its companion podcast discusses the making of the show; neither should be presented as a standalone documentary investigation.

Rachel DeLoache Williams’s My Friend Anna: The True Story of a Fake Heiress offers a first-person account of her relationship with Sorokin. It is a book, not a documentary or podcast, so it does not make this a five-item screen-and-audio list.
