Anna and Lucy DeCinque have described trying to conceive and struggling to become pregnant together, the shared goal they discussed on TLC’s reality series Extreme Sisters. Their account is not confirmation that either sister is currently pregnant, nor an independently verified fertility diagnosis.
What Anna and Lucy said about trying to conceive
In the Extreme Sisters episode “Wombmates,” Anna and Lucy spoke about their wish to become pregnant at the same time. PerthNow reported on 24 January 2023 that the sisters said they had been trying for a couple of years. They described the goal simply: “Our dream is to be pregnant together at the same time.” PerthNow’s account of the episode presents this as their experience on the program, not a clinical assessment.
What the episode showed about their temperature checks
PerthNow reported that the episode showed both sisters checking their temperatures, with each thermometer reading 36.8°C. Lucy said they had learned online that a temperature increase meant ovulation. That is what she said in the scene; the reported readings do not establish that either sister was ovulating or provide a verified fertility finding.
They knew they might not conceive at the same time
Their hope of falling pregnant together was not a guaranteed outcome. In a report published on 23 February 2023, 7NEWS said the sisters recognized they could not control whether they conceived simultaneously and would support one another if only one became pregnant. 7NEWS’s report describes their response to that possibility.

What is known about their more recent status
A UNILAD report published on 19 February 2026 attributes to Ben Byrne a statement made on the TLC program in 2022 that the couple had put attempts to have a baby on hold because of difficulties. The report concerns an earlier program statement; it is not a new announcement about the sisters’ circumstances. UNILAD’s 2026 account does not establish whether Anna or Lucy is currently pregnant or trying to conceive.
About the “world’s most identical twins” label
Some coverage calls Anna and Lucy the “world’s most identical twins.” In the reporting cited here, that phrase is a media label, not a substantiated scientific ranking. Their story is better understood as a personal account of wanting to share pregnancy and facing uncertainty about whether that could happen at the same time.
