If you want anime that puts bullying at the center of the story, start with A Silent Voice. This feature film follows both the harm Shōya Ishida inflicts on Shōko Nishimiya and the isolation and guilt he later experiences. For a longer story that examines what a classmate can do when someone is targeted, watch the bullying arc in March Comes in Like a Lion.
The available official descriptions support these two as direct recommendations, but they do not establish ten distinct titles for a responsibly sourced “best of” ranking. Rather than pad the list with anime whose connection to bullying is uncertain, this guide compares the two supported choices and explains what each offers.

At a glance: which anime about bullying should you watch?
| Title | How directly it deals with bullying | Perspective | Format | What to expect |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A Silent Voice | Central premise | Follows a student who bullies a classmate and the consequences for both | Standalone film | Communication, isolation, guilt; the official award synopsis mentions suicidal intent |
| March Comes in Like a Lion | A substantial story arc, not the entire series | Centers on a friend supporting a bullying target, then becoming a target herself | Television series; bullying arc includes episode 26 | Escalating school bullying and its effects on attendance and relationships |
1. A Silent Voice: a bullying story from more than one side
A Silent Voice is the clearest starting point if you want bullying to be the film’s central subject. Its official synopsis describes Shōya Ishida as a school bully and Shōko Nishimiya as a deaf student who is bullied and isolated after transferring to his school. Years later, the circumstances have changed: Shōya is isolated and seeks Shōko out. GKIDS’ film synopsis identifies that shift without reducing the story to a simple confrontation between a villain and a victim.
The Japan Media Arts Festival’s award entry for the film describes its concerns as including communication and bullying. That makes the film particularly apt for viewers interested in how harm, exclusion, and attempts to reconnect affect people beyond the initial target.

Who should choose it
- Choose it if you want a complete story in one film rather than a school-bullying subplot spread across a series.
- Choose it if you want the narrative to consider both Shōko’s treatment and Shōya’s later isolation and guilt.
Content note
The Japan Media Arts Festival’s synopsis mentions Shōya’s suicidal intent. The subject is treated as part of the story’s emotional weight; the film is not clinical guidance. Viewers who prefer to avoid suicide-related material may want to check a detailed content guide before watching.
2. March Comes in Like a Lion: a bullying arc seen through a supporter
March Comes in Like a Lion is a series with a defined bullying storyline, rather than a show in which every episode is about bullying. In the official episode 26 synopsis, Chiho, a friend of Hinata, is bullied at middle school. Hinata keeps inviting Chiho to eat lunch and suggests telling their homeroom teacher. The situation escalates until Chiho cannot attend school and moves away; Hinata then becomes a target herself.

What makes this arc different
Its key perspective is the classmate who tries to support someone being targeted. The episode description shows that friendship and speaking up do not make the situation resolve quickly: the bullying worsens, affects Chiho’s ability to attend school, and reaches Hinata as well. If you are looking for a series-length account of the consequences around a bullying incident, this arc is the supported reason to add the show to your list.
How to approach it
Look for the episodes surrounding the documented arc, including episode 26, rather than expecting the whole series to focus on bullying. The cited synopsis establishes the events in that episode; it does not provide a complete episode-by-episode viewing guide.

Why this is not a ten-title ranking
A reliable “best 10” list needs evidence for each pick: whether bullying is central or just an adjacent theme, whose experience the story follows, and what the source actually says about the consequences. The official introduction for Wonder Egg Priority, for example, identifies a 14-year-old protagonist who cannot attend school and describes girls facing difficulties, but it does not establish bullying as the series’ main subject. That is not enough to present it as a direct bullying recommendation.
For the same reason, this guide does not fill the remaining places with titles whose connection to bullying has not been substantiated here. The two selections above are distinct in useful ways: one is a standalone film that follows a bully and his target, while the other is a series arc that foregrounds a supporter and the fallout around a target.

Where to watch or find A Silent Voice
Crunchyroll announced on March 20, 2026, that A Silent Voice was streaming on its service, while noting that availability depends on region. Check the announcement and your local catalog before subscribing; a service listing in one territory does not guarantee access everywhere or establish that the title remains available.
GKIDS lists Blu-ray among the film’s home-media formats on its official film page. That confirms a distributor-listed format, not current stock, a particular regional edition, or availability from a specific retailer.
