Speaking on the Hamish and Andy podcast, Lee said, “I asked Bec to marry me on Sunday,” as quoted by PerthNow. The reports place the proposal on the Sunday before the announcement; the quotation is attributed to the outlet’s reporting rather than an independently verified podcast transcript.

The couple later shared their engagement news on Instagram, according to the reports. 7NEWS described Harding showing a diamond ring. The reports do not establish the ring’s maker, exact cut, price or place of purchase.
