Andor season 2 premiered on Disney+ on April 22, 2025, and finished on May 13, 2025. Its 12 episodes arrived in four weekly releases of three episodes each. The season is complete: it carries Cassian’s story through the years leading into Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, rather than setting up a third season.

What happens next for Cassian?
Season 2 spans four years and takes Cassian from a wary outsider toward the committed rebel operative seen in Rogue One. Its story reaches the brink of that film, where Cassian is part of the mission to steal the Death Star plans. The next canonical screen chapter for his story is therefore Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

That transition is the point of the series’ ending, not a cliffhanger announcing more Andor. StarWars.com describes season 2 as the show’s conclusion and the series as a prequel to Rogue One; its 2025 year-in-review calls it the second and final season. See the official series page and 2025 year-in-review for that framing.
How season 2 was made
At Star Wars Celebration in 2025, producer Sanne Wohlenberg gave production figures reported by StarWars.com: 140 sets, seven stages, two backlots, 24 locations, 700 costumes, 156 creatures, 30 droids and 4,100 visual-effects shots. These are figures attributed to Wohlenberg in the event report, not independently audited counts. The Celebration report also names the season’s writers and directors.

- Tony Gilroy wrote episodes 1–3; Beau Willimon wrote episodes 4–6; Dan Gilroy wrote episodes 7–9; and Tom Bissell wrote episodes 10–12.
- Ariel Kleiman directed episodes 1–6, Janus Metz directed episodes 7–9, and Alonso Ruizpalacios directed episodes 10–12.
Tony Gilroy created the series and served as showrunner and executive producer. At the finale event, he summed up the first season as “the education and radicalization of Cassian, about the making of a revolutionary.” His comments on season 2 describe the pressure building across the ensemble as the conflict between the Rebellion and the Empire becomes impossible to stop. StarWars.com’s finale-event coverage carries his remarks.

Lucasfilm’s cited physical-media announcement covers season 1 on 4K UHD and Blu-ray, not season 2. That announcement is not evidence of a season 2 disc edition, and no official season 2 physical release is established by the cited material. See the season 1 home-video announcement.
