En una entrevista con el programa de radio Todo para la mujer, explicó que el apoyo de su esposo, Zacarías Melhem, la ayudó poco a poco a relajarse y disfrutar la experiencia. La pareja anunció el embarazo en diciembre de 2024; en mayo de 2025, Contreras dio a luz a su hija.
Qué dijo Ana Brenda sobre su embarazo arcoíris
En la entrevista con Todo para la mujer, Contreras habló de la mezcla de temor y esperanza que acompañó su embarazo después de una pérdida. Dijo que se enteró poco después de que comenzara la grabación del programa ¿Quién es la máscara? y que, al principio, le costaba dejar atrás el miedo.
También señaló que escuchar las experiencias de otras personas no podía anticiparle por completo cómo viviría ella esa etapa: “Por más que alguien te cuente su experiencia, no lo sabes hasta que lo vives”. People en Español y otros medios publicaron sus comentarios en diciembre de 2024.
Por qué sintió miedo durante el embarazo
Contreras relacionó sus nervios con dos circunstancias: era su primera experiencia como madre y había perdido un embarazo en septiembre de 2024, aproximadamente dos meses antes de la entrevista. Su esposo la animó a relajarse, confiar y disfrutar el proceso. Según contó, con el tiempo pasó gradualmente del miedo a una mayor confianza y a poder disfrutarlo.

En septiembre, al hablar públicamente de la pérdida, había expresado que el duelo no depende de cuántas semanas haya durado un embarazo ni de haber podido abrazar al bebé. People en Español recogió sus palabras: “Hay un dolor único que viene de preparar un lugar en tu vida y en tu corazón para un bebé que nunca llega. No importan las semanas, no importa que nunca lo hayas abrazado; tu experiencia y dolor son válidos.”
Qué significa “bebé arcoíris” en este caso
Los medios usaron la expresión “bebé arcoíris” para referirse al bebé esperado después de una pérdida. CARAS México describe el término como una imagen de esperanza y sanación tras el duelo. Es una expresión personal y cultural, no un término médico; tampoco implica que un nuevo embarazo borre la pérdida anterior.

Cuándo anunció el embarazo y qué ocurrió después
- Septiembre de 2024: Contreras habló públicamente de la pérdida de un embarazo.
- 11 de diciembre de 2024: ella y Melhem anunciaron el nuevo embarazo. La publicación, según Univision, decía: “Lo mejor está por venir. Mayo 2025”. Mayo era el mes previsto en ese anuncio, no la fecha confirmada del nacimiento.
- Diciembre de 2024: se difundieron sus comentarios sobre el miedo y el apoyo de su esposo en la entrevista con Todo para la mujer.
- 23 de mayo de 2025: la descripción de un video de Despierta América, de Univision, informó que Contreras había dado a luz a su primera hija. Univision posteriormente identificó a la niña como Aria.
