The clearest examples below are therefore grouped by what the reported figure actually describes—not presented as a definitive top 15.
How to read celebrity support figures
A monthly figure may be a final order, a private settlement, an amount sought in court, or a parent’s estimate of expenses. Those categories are not interchangeable. The number of children covered and any additional payments for tuition, health care, or other costs also affect comparisons. Older reports may describe arrangements that have since changed or ended.

As the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers explained in its 2024 discussion of Kevin Costner’s case, “The court looks to what’s necessary for the child’s well-being, such as education, housing, how to meet their basic essentials and tries to draw a line that supports but doesn’t spoil the child.” The case-specific figures below should be read in that context, not as a formula for other families.

A reported expense estimate—not a disclosed payment
Linda Evangelista and François-Henri Pinault
Linda Evangelista said in court papers that she was spending $46,000 per month on her son’s expenses, including a 24-hour nanny and bodyguards, according to CBS News in 2012. That was her reported estimate of expenses—not the amount Pinault paid. The settlement was confidential, and its terms were not publicly disclosed. CBS News.

Why this is not a definitive top 15
Several widely circulated celebrity roundups name other parents, including Kelly Clarkson, Charlie Sheen, Eddie Murphy, and Sean Combs. The figures vary across accounts and may concern different periods or include support categories beyond child support. Without a consistent, dated basis for comparison, placing them in a ranked list would imply more certainty than public reporting provides.
- A requested amount is not necessarily what a court ordered.
- A temporary award may differ from a later final order or settlement.
- A combined child- and spousal-support figure cannot be compared directly with child support alone.
- A confidential agreement cannot be ranked by an undisclosed payment amount.
- A historic monthly or annual amount should not be described as current without updated evidence.
High-income support calculations also depend on jurisdiction and the circumstances of each case. The 2022 Offit Kurman discussion of the Kardashian–West agreement describes differing state approaches, while the AAML’s 2024 Costner discussion addresses the role of children’s needs and reasonableness. These cases are examples of reported arrangements, not a standard price list.
