PEOPLE reported that a source close to the royal household said, “William is staying positive for Kate and the children.” The account also described a positive atmosphere around the family during a period when Kate was not appearing publicly. The speaker was not named, so the remarks should be understood as anonymous-source reporting rather than a statement from the Princess, Prince William, or a medical professional.

What later official updates confirmed
On January 15, 2025, the Royal Family reported that the Princess of Wales had received treatment at The Royal Marsden and visited its Chelsea site. The Palace’s announcement supplies later institutional context, but it does not verify the anonymous source’s description of the family’s mood.

The Royal Household’s 2024–25 annual report said the Princess and the King began phased returns to public-facing duties during the reporting year following cancer treatment. That is a broad account of their return to duties, not a detailed account of Kate’s health or treatment.

The cited official updates do not identify the Princess’s cancer type or set out a detailed treatment regimen. They also do not establish her present-day treatment status. The 2024 report’s hopeful language should therefore be kept distinct from the limited facts in later official statements.
