AMC Stubs Insider is free to join and currently includes midweek ticket and concession offers, points toward rewards, a birthday popcorn gift, and a refill on large popcorn. It does not list free size upgrades as a standard Insider benefit: AMC places those perks in upgraded or paid tiers. Check your account and AMC’s current offer terms before checkout, since participation and exclusions apply.
What does free AMC Stubs Insider include?
AMC’s Stubs membership page describes Insider as its free tier. Its listed benefits are:
- Half-price tickets on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The discount applies to eligible tickets under the current offer terms.
- Half-price small combos on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Availability and eligible items may vary.
- Points toward $5 rewards. Members earn points through qualifying purchases; check AMC’s account and program details for current earning rules.
- A birthday gift of large popcorn.
- A free refill on large popcorn.
AMC’s July 7, 2025 announcement said the half-price ticket offer covered free Insider members as well as paid-tier members, while online ticketing fees and premium-format charges remained payable. The current offer page and your checkout total are the best guides to the terms in effect now.
Does free Insider include free popcorn size upgrades?
No—not as a standard benefit listed for Insider on AMC’s current tier pages. AMC describes free size upgrades under its paid Premiere tier and upgraded Premiere GO! tier, rather than among Insider’s core benefits. A large-popcorn refill is a separate Insider perk; it is not the same as an upgrade to a larger size.

- CONVENIENT SERVING FEATURES: A patented quick-release lever tilts the kettle to empty popcorn into the serving area, while the tilt door makes serving easy.
- ENHANCED POPPING PERFORMANCE: The motorized stirring rod maximizes popped kernels per batch, and a built-in kernel catcher tray collects unpopped kernels for a better snacking experience.
- COMPACT AND FUNCTIONAL DESIGN: With dimensions of 10.87” (W) x 10.27” (D) x 17.72” (H), this stylish popcorn popper includes a measuring tool and scoop for making gourmet popcorn at home.
AMC describes Premiere GO! as an upgrade path for eligible Insider members, with enhanced benefits that include free size upgrades, faster point earning, priority access, a birthday drink, and fee waivers for qualifying group orders. Eligibility and current criteria are set by AMC, so check the program page before assuming you qualify. The company described the launch as “an exciting and achievable pathway” for Insider members to unlock enhanced rewards; that statement does not mean every Insider member automatically receives those benefits.
How do the Tuesday and Wednesday discounts work with premium formats?
The half-price ticket offer can reduce the base ticket price without eliminating every charge. AMC’s July 2025 announcement specifically said premium-format charges and online ticketing fees still applied. The amount you pay can therefore differ by format, theater, and transaction. Review the final price in your AMC account before buying.

When might a paid tier be worth considering?
AMC currently lists Premiere at $17.99 plus tax per year, with broader benefits that include waived online ticket fees and free size upgrades. That is the price displayed on AMC’s current tier page; membership prices and benefits can change.
Premiere may suit someone who regularly buys tickets or concessions and can use those added perks, but AMC’s published benefits alone do not establish a universal break-even point. Compare your own expected visits, fees, and concession purchases against the annual cost. A-List is a separate paid option with movie reservations and waived online reservation fees, making it more relevant to frequent moviegoers than to someone primarily seeking casual rewards.

What terms should members check before purchasing?
- AMC says benefits can change, apply at participating locations, and are subject to exclusions.
- Size upgrades cannot be combined with certain promotional offers or show-snack coupons under AMC’s terms.
- Discounts and rewards should not be assumed to apply to every theater, food item, premium format, special event, or transaction.
- Check your account and the current terms, then confirm the final price and applied offer before completing a purchase.
AMC Entertainment Holdings reported approximately 39 million Stubs member households across Insider, Premiere, Premiere GO!, and A-List as of December 31, 2025. That company-reported total covers all tiers and does not disclose how many members are in free Insider alone.
