Secret Level is a 15-episode adult animated anthology that tells original, standalone stories inside video game and tabletop worlds. Its first season jumps from arcade icons such as PAC-MAN and Mega Man to roleplaying settings including Dungeons & Dragons and Warhammer 40,000, with science fiction, shooters, action games and an online RPG in between.
What is Secret Level about?
Rather than following one continuous plot, Secret Level uses each short to tell a separate story connected to a different game or game-related property. Prime Video describes Season 1 as an adult animated anthology of original stories set within video game worlds and lists 15 episodes. Amazon Games announced the series on August 20, 2024, and said it would arrive on Prime Video starting December 10, 2024. Its October 14, 2024 launch announcement described a planned release in more than 240 countries and territories; that was a launch claim, not a guarantee of present-day availability in every location. The first season’s 15 properties, as reported by TheWrap, span established game franchises, newer worlds and tabletop roleplaying. The PlayStation entry is a grouping of multiple characters, not one clearly identified game adaptation.

Why does the lineup feel so varied?
Classic icons beside newer worlds
PAC-MAN and Mega Man bring instantly recognizable arcade-era characters into the same anthology as comparatively newer or less familiar settings such as Exodus. That contrast makes the series less like a tour of one gaming generation and more like a sampler of different kinds of fictional worlds.

Different genres, different storytelling hooks
The properties range across arcade games, action titles, shooters, roleplaying games and science fiction. They also include New World: Aeternum, an online RPG, alongside tabletop settings such as Dungeons & Dragons and Warhammer 40,000. Each short can draw on a different kind of world or premise, rather than repeating one genre’s conventions.
Game worlds, not just game plots
Amazon Games says participating game studios worked closely with Blur as the episodes were developed. Tim Miller, Secret Level creator and executive producer, said one goal was to feature games “from as wide a spectrum of genres as possible.” The approach is to create new stories within familiar settings, with the game makers involved in shaping how those settings are adapted. How does the New World: Aeternum short use its game world?
The New World: Aeternum episode offers a clear example of a story built around a recognizable game concept: returning after death. Amazon Games describes its story through the experience of being overmatched, dying repeatedly, questing, collecting, leveling up and crafting. Rather than treating those activities as background details, the episode’s premise draws on the cycle of setbacks and progress familiar to players of an online RPG.

What happened after the Warhammer 40,000 episode?
A separate Warhammer 40,000 animated series was reported as developing from Secret Level’s “And They Shall Know No Fear” episode. Space.com reported on August 5, 2026, that Amazon MGM Studios, Blur Studios and Games Workshop were involved, that Henry Cavill was an executive producer, and that the story would focus on the Deathwatch. What is confirmed about the series beyond Season 1?
The available details establish a 15-episode first season and the launch plan announced in 2024. They do not establish a Season 2 renewal, an independently reported audience figure, a measured ranking of the episodes or a physical release. Blur Studio describes the series as Prime Video’s biggest debut ever for a new animated series, but its project page does not provide a comparable audience figure or measurement.
