Amanda Peterson’s 2015 death was reported at age 43, but the available evidence does not establish that the 2012 photo shoot later described online was her final one. The distinction matters: contemporaneous reporting documents her career and death, while the shoot’s date and “final” status remain unverified.
What is known about Amanda Peterson’s career?
Peterson was best known for playing Cindy Mancini opposite Patrick Dempsey in the 1987 romantic comedy Can’t Buy Me Love, according to CBS/AP’s July 7, 2015 report. In the film, Cindy agrees to pose as Dempsey’s character’s girlfriend.
CBS/AP reported that Peterson’s film career began with the 1982 adaptation of Annie, when she was nine, and identified Windrunner (1994) as her last film. It also noted that she appeared in films and television shows over the following decade. A last film credit, however, does not tell us when she last took part in a photo shoot.
What did reports say about her death?
CBS/AP reported that Peterson was found dead at an apartment complex in Greeley, Colorado, in July 2015, at age 43. The report said she was alone and that police described the investigation as ongoing at the time. It does not establish a cause of death, and those contemporaneous details should not be treated as a current account of investigative findings.

Were the 2012 photos really her final shoot?
That has not been established. A July 8, 2015 forum post refers to Daily Mail coverage of images from what the commenter called Peterson’s “last photo shoot in 2012.” The forum post is a secondhand description, not primary confirmation; the referenced Daily Mail report and its evidence are not available in the reviewed material. The photographer, location, precise date, and basis for calling the session her last are therefore unverified.
An indexed aggregation page pairs the “final photo shoot” headline with assorted Amanda Peterson imagery and keywords, but it does not provide evidence for the claim. A headline appearing in search results is not proof that the shoot was her final one.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to read the claim
- Established by contemporaneous reporting: Peterson’s best-known role, the beginning of her film career, her last identified film, and the basic circumstances reported after her death.
- Not established: that a particular 2012 session was her final photo shoot, or the precise details of that session.
It is accurate to say that a forum commenter associated 2012 photos with a shoot described as her last. It is not accurate to present that description as confirmed fact.
