Netflix’s US April 2026 schedule brings BEEF season 2, the animated Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, Running Point season 2, Apex, and Man on Fire, alongside documentaries, comedy specials, live events, and a large licensed-film refresh. Here is the complete date-by-date calendar, plus the notable titles leaving Netflix.
April’s biggest Netflix releases
Netflix’s US schedule for April 2026 is led by returning hits, franchise extensions, new thrillers, documentaries, comedy, and a substantial licensed-film refresh. The month’s main dates are:
- April 9: Big Mistakes, a crime comedy starring Dan Levy and Rachel Sennott.
- April 16: BEEF season 2, with a new anthology storyline led by Charles Melton, Cailee Spaeny, Oscar Isaac, and Carey Mulligan.
- April 17: Roommates, a contemporary college comedy film.
- April 23: Running Point season 2 and the animated Stranger Things: Tales From ’85.
- April 24: Apex, a survival-action thriller starring Charlize Theron and Taron Egerton.
- April 30: Man on Fire, a seven-episode action-thriller series based on A. J. Quinnell’s novel.
This is a United States-oriented schedule. Netflix’s licensed titles can vary considerably by country, and release dates, live-event details, and “coming soon” listings should be checked again immediately before publication or viewing.
What to watch first in April
Big Mistakes — April 9
Dan Levy and Rachel Sennott lead this new comedy series about two incapable siblings who are blackmailed into organized crime. Taylor Ortega, Laurie Metcalf, Jack Innanen, Abby Quinn, Boran Kuzum, and Elizabeth Perkins are also part of the ensemble. It is the month’s clearest new scripted-comedy choice for viewers who like an inept-family premise with crime complications.

BEEF season 2 — April 16
The second season takes BEEF in a new anthology direction rather than continuing the first season’s central storyline. Charles Melton and Cailee Spaeny play a young couple who witness a disturbing confrontation involving their country-club-manager boss and his wife, played by Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan. The fallout develops into a blackmail war.
Roommates — April 17
Roommates follows college students Devon and Celeste. Their friendship gradually turns into a passive-aggressive conflict, making this a useful pick for viewers looking for a contemporary comedy film instead of another returning franchise or action title.
Running Point season 2 — April 23
Kate Hudson returns as Isla Gordon in the sports comedy about a woman unexpectedly put in charge of her family’s professional basketball team. The series offers a lighter workplace-comedy option amid April’s darker crime, survival, and revenge stories.
Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 — April 23
This 10-episode animated series is set in Hawkins during the winter of 1985, between the events of the second and third seasons of Stranger Things. Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Max return in animated form, joined by new characters and a new paranormal threat. Netflix’s title information lists the series as TV-PG.

Tales From ’85 is a new adventure in the Stranger Things universe, not a continuation of the original show’s present-day timeline. Viewers interested in related products should wait for a verified, currently licensed listing rather than assuming that any third-party merchandise is official.
Apex — April 24
Charlize Theron stars as a woman traveling through the Australian Outback who becomes the target of a trained killer. Taron Egerton co-stars in this survival-action thriller, which is April’s strongest new action-film hook.
Man on Fire — April 30
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II plays John Creasy in this seven-episode action-thriller series. A former mercenary is drawn back into violence and revenge in an adaptation of A. J. Quinnell’s novel. The book also inspired earlier film adaptations starring Scott Glenn and Denzel Washington, but the Netflix series should be treated as its own adaptation rather than as a continuation of either film.
If you want to compare the adaptation with its source material, look for Man on Fire by A. J. Quinnell. Check the edition, format, price, stock, and US availability before linking to a retailer, since those details change.

- Best in Show
- Big Momma’s House
- The Bucket List
- Cheaper by the Dozen

Other notable departures in the schedule are Queen of the South seasons 1–5 on April 7, Van Helsing seasons 1–5 on April 16, Black Sails seasons 1–4 on April 17, and the listed James Bond films on April 21. If one of these is on your watchlist, do not assume that the departure date is worldwide or that it cannot change; Netflix catalogs are territory-specific and licensing arrangements can be revised.
How to use this calendar
- Save the headline dates: April 16 for BEEF, April 23 for Running Point and Tales From ’85, April 24 for Apex, and April 30 for Man on Fire.
- Check the title page: Netflix may publish episode counts, ratings, release timing, and regional availability separately from a monthly calendar.
- Prioritize documentaries early: Several factual titles arrive between April 3 and April 22, including multiple Untold installments.
- Watch expiring titles first: The April 1 departures are particularly numerous, and several complete series leave later in the month.
- Verify live broadcasts on the day: The Fury fight and Supernova:Genesis require separate time and availability checks.
Most importantly, do not read the complete list as a list of Netflix originals. April’s schedule mixes Netflix productions with licensed movies and shows, and the licensed portion is the part most likely to differ between the United States and other countries.
