D23 2024 presented Disney’s plans across three connected areas: screen stories, digital games, and in-person experiences. The entertainment showcase put sequels and franchise films alongside series and development-stage projects; the games news centered on Disney’s partnership with Epic Games and Fortnite; and the Experiences showcase covered attractions, themed areas, live entertainment, and cruise ships. Disney Experiences chairman Josh D’Amaro described the aim as bringing new projects to life in parks, on cruise ships, and through the Epic Games partnership.
Disney’s August 2024 recap also reported a combined global box office of $2.8 billion for Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, Inside Out 2, and Deadpool & Wolverine. That was the company’s figure at the time of the recap, not a current cumulative total.
