Dave and Jenny Marrs have five children: twin sons Nathan and Ben, daughters Sylvie and Charlotte, and their youngest child, Luke. Sylvie was adopted from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. What is Sylvie’s adoption story?
The Marrses began the adoption process in 2012. The family’s path to bringing Sylvie home was prolonged when the Congolese government shut down adoptions, leaving her unable to leave the country. Senator John Boozman’s October 2021 tribute in the Congressional Record says she arrived home after more than 600 days.
Accounts distinguish the adoption from Sylvie’s homecoming: a July 2026 TV Insider report says the adoption took place in 2013 and she came home the following year. The Senate tribute confirms the process began in 2012 and describes the long wait before her arrival. These milestones should not be collapsed into a single date.

Do the Marrs children appear on Fixer to Fabulous?
The children have stepped back from appearing on camera, and their participation has been their choice. In a statement quoted by TV Insider/Swooon in March 2025, Jenny Marrs said: “And it’s always been up to them – they can participate or not – and naturally some of our kiddos are much more camera shy than others.” The comment describes their choice as a family; it does not establish how any individual child feels about filming.
How old are Dave and Jenny Marrs’ kids?
HGTV gives Luke’s birth year as 2019, but the cited sources do not establish reliable current birth dates for all five children. For that reason, a complete set of ages cannot be stated confidently from these accounts.
