What Disney movies are coming out in 2026? This ranked guide covers 16 new Disney-company feature films announced for theatrical release during the year, from Pixar sequels to Marvel and Searchlight titles. The order is an editorial estimate—not an official Disney ranking or a measured audience poll—based on franchise recognition, sequel or adaptation status, visible cast and creative teams, and the amount of confirmed information available. Dates are announced plans and may change.
How this 2026 Disney movie list is scoped
“Disney” here means films released by Disney labels including Pixar, Searchlight Pictures, 20th Century Studios, Lucasfilm, Walt Disney Animation Studios, and Marvel Studios. The 16 entries are new feature releases scheduled for theaters in calendar 2026; Disney does not label this exact selection as an official set of 16.
Special engagements and re-releases are excluded. Disney’s fall calendar also lists Cars (20th Anniversary) on September 4, Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger for a special engagement on September 11, and Avengers Endgame: Encore on September 25. They are not new feature releases in this list. Gatto is also excluded: Disney announced it for March 5, 2027, not 2026.
The ranking is a judgment call, not a forecast of ticket sales. It weighs recognizable franchises and earlier films, adaptation or sequel awareness, prominent cast and filmmakers, and how much verified information has been announced. Entries with little public detail are especially speculative.

What Disney movies are coming out in 2026, ranked by hype?
-
Avengers: Doomsday — December 18
Marvel Studios. Disney identifies this as the final film in its 2026 theatrical slate. The Avengers name and its place in the Marvel franchise give it the broadest built-in recognition on this list, though the official fall announcement cited here provides limited detail beyond its date and slate position.
-
Toy Story 5 — June 19
Disney and Pixar. The toys face a technology-era challenge: Bonnie’s tablet, Lilypad, complicates their lives. Andrew Stanton directs, Randy Newman returns to score, and Taylor Swift contributes an original song. A long-running animated series and a clearly announced premise make this one of the slate’s most legible family draws.
-
The Mandalorian and Grogu — May 22
Lucasfilm. Din Djarin and Grogu move from their episodic story to theaters, where a New Republic mission sends them against dangerous warlords. Disney’s March announcement described the pair as called upon to protect a peaceful galaxy. The series has streamed more than 1.3 billion hours globally, according to Disney’s June 4, 2026 summer-slate article; that is a series-viewing figure, not a measure of demand for this film.
-
The Devil Wears Prada 2 — May 1
20th Century Studios. Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci return to the world of Runway nearly two decades after the first film. The returning principal cast and recognizable fashion-world setting make the sequel an easy title to place high, even without treating nostalgia as proof of audience demand.

-
Moana — July 10
Disney Live Action. The live-action reimagining stars Catherine Laga‘aia as Moana and Dwayne Johnson as Maui, with Thomas Kail directing. Its familiar animated source and returning Maui performer give audiences a clear point of recognition.
-
Hoppers — March 6
Disney and Pixar. An animal lover transfers her consciousness into a robotic beaver so she can communicate with animals and protect their habitat. It is an original Pixar concept rather than a sequel, with an unusual science-fiction hook to distinguish it from the franchise-led titles.
-
Ready or Not 2: Here I Come — March 20
Searchlight Pictures. Grace survives another deadly game, now alongside her estranged sister Faith, as rival families pursue control of the Council. Its direct connection to the first film and continuation of its survival-horror premise put it among the clearest genre-sequel bets.
-
Send Help — January 30
20th Century Studios. Sam Raimi directs this darkly comic psychological thriller about workplace rivals Linda, played by Rachel McAdams, and Bradley, played by Dylan O’Brien, stranded on an island after a plane crash. Its director and cast are substantial hooks, although it is not built on an established franchise.

-
Wild Horse Nine — November 6
Searchlight Pictures. Martin McDonagh’s crime-dramedy follows CIA agents Chris and Lee, played by John Malkovich and Sam Rockwell, sent to Easter Island shortly before the 1973 Chilean coup. The director-led premise and lead pairing are its strongest confirmed signals.
-
The Dog Stars — August 28
20th Century Studios. Ridley Scott directs a post-apocalyptic thriller adapted from Peter Heller’s bestselling novel. The announced cast includes Jacob Elordi, Josh Brolin, Margaret Qualley, Guy Pearce, Benedict Wong, and Allison Janney. The adaptation offers a known literary starting point, while Scott and the ensemble add visibility.
-
Hexed — November 25
Walt Disney Animation Studios. This animated coming-of-age story follows Billie, a teenager whose magical abilities lead her and her cautious mother into a witch realm and family mysteries. Hailee Steinfeld and Rashida Jones voice Billie and Alice. Disney’s announced fantasy premise and animation label make it a recognizable family release, though it is a new story rather than an established franchise.
-
Super Troopers 3 — August 7
Searchlight Pictures. The Broken Lizard troupe returns for a comedy involving a chaotic engagement and a new drug-ring investigation. Its appeal rests mainly on recognition of the earlier films and the returning comedy team.

Disney Princess Complete Collection Box set [Blu-ray] [2019] [Region Free]- Brand New in box. The product ships with all relevant accessories
-
Behemoth! — December 4
Searchlight Pictures. Disney names Tony Gilroy as filmmaker and Pedro Pascal and Olivia Wilde among the stars. The announcement provides little premise detail, so this placement is tentative and based on the visible creative and cast names rather than a confirmed story hook.
-
Whalefall — October 16
20th Century Studios. Disney’s fall slate identifies it as a deep-sea thriller but provides limited plot information. Without more confirmed detail or an established franchise, its position is necessarily provisional.
-
Portrait of an Artist: Stephen Curry — October 9
Disney’s fall slate lists the title and date, but the announcement cited here gives too little detail to substantiate a premise or format. Its placement is therefore among the most speculative.
-
Everest: The Other Side — October 30
Disney’s fall slate gives this title and date but does not establish a premise or studio banner in the available announcement. With so little confirmed to compare, it sits last in an intentionally cautious, editorial ranking—not because an audience-interest measure says it will draw the least attention.

Which 2026 Disney release dates changed?
Disney’s later 2026 announcements superseded dates in its earlier winter planning article for two films on this list:
- Ready or Not 2: Here I Come was previously listed for April 10; the March 2026 slate announced March 20.
- The Dog Stars was previously listed for March 27; the June 2026 summer slate announced August 28.
Other dates in this article are also announced plans and remain subject to change.
What the hype ranking can—and cannot—tell you
Disney reported that its five releases through the date of its June 4, 2026 summer-slate article had earned more than $2 billion worldwide. That is a company-reported box-office total for those releases, not an interest score for the remaining slate or evidence for this ranking. Likewise, Disney’s March 2026 article cited more than 300 million hours streamed globally for the Predator franchise on Disney platforms; that describes catalog viewing, not anticipated demand for any one 2026 film.
For films with sparse announcements, a ranking based on visible information is less reliable than one for sequels with known premises and casts. Release dates, showtimes, and further film details may change or be announced later.
