Alison Victoria described her path after the Windy City Rehab fallout as a return to client-focused design, followed by a more cautious approach to flipping. “It’s time to get up and just go forward,” she told PEOPLE in an interview published September 24, 2024. Later HGTV programming kept her on screen, including the 2025 debut of Sin City Rehab.
What happened with Alison Victoria and Donovan Eckhardt?
Victoria’s former business partner and Windy City Rehab co-star Donovan Eckhardt left the show in 2020. PEOPLE reported that he faced allegations of mishandling company finances; it also described procedural and legal problems during his final episodes, including suspended contractor and developer licenses, stop-work orders and lawsuits. The financial claim is an allegation, not a finding established by the interview.
In her September 2024 interview, Victoria presented the period as a public professional setback and said that showing up to address problems mattered. She described the show as a place where audiences saw her confront them. Those are her reflections on the experience, rather than an independent account of every dispute.
How did Victoria say she moved forward?
Victoria said she shifted her attention to helping clients design their homes and grew her business after the hardest period. She also spoke about reconsidering house flipping, but said she needed to rebuild confidence, do more homework and make more meticulous investment decisions.

Victoria said selling was difficult, but could allow her to return to work she loved. “It was the dream and I accomplished it. And it’s on to the next dream,” she said.
