How much was the reported offer?
The amount attributed to Lehmann was 100,000 Swiss francs. Goal rendered the sum as £90,000 in its October 2023 headline, but that is a publication-time currency conversion, not the original reported amount. Goal’s report also describes the person as very well-known.
Who was the celebrity?
The cited coverage does not name the person. Fox News, Goal and Swiss publication Blick all describe the sender as unnamed; Blick’s October 2023 headline refers to a “superstar” offering 100,000 francs. Its coverage corroborates how the story was reported, but does not independently authenticate the alleged message. Read Blick’s report.
Without a name in the cited reporting or independent evidence establishing one, speculation about the celebrity should not be treated as fact.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What is verified—and what is not?
The available reports establish that Lehmann was quoted as describing the offer and her refusal in an interview. They do not establish the sender’s identity or independently confirm that the message was sent. Multiple outlets repeating the same account show that it received coverage; they do not amount to independent verification of the underlying allegation.
