Alice in Borderland Season 3 premiered worldwide on Netflix on September 25, 2025, and is now available to stream there. The season brings Arisu and Usagi back to the Borderland for a new story centered on the Joker stage, with returning cast members and several new players.
Is Alice in Borderland Season 3 out?
Yes. Season 3 premiered globally on Netflix on September 25, 2025. Netflix announced the date as part of its release information; whether it appears in your local catalog can depend on your country. Netflix’s release announcement and the Netflix title page identify the service carrying the series.
What happens in Season 3?
After surviving the previous games, Arisu and Usagi return to the real world and marry. Usagi is drawn back into the Borderland, and Arisu follows in an effort to find her. The Joker stage and the danger of new games shape the season’s setup.
Netflix describes Season 3 as an original story. The live-action series is based on Haro Aso’s manga, published by Shogakukan, but this season should not be treated as a direct adaptation of a specific manga arc. Netflix places the action in Japan, in a liminal version of Tokyo. Netflix Tudum’s season guide provides the official premise and season details.

The trailer announcement distinguishes the main trailer from the season’s earlier promotional material and includes comments from the lead actors. How Season 3 fits the manga and series
Haro Aso’s Alice in Borderland manga is the source for the broader live-action series, while Netflix calls Season 3’s story original. That distinction matters if you are comparing the show with the manga: the season’s premise follows the franchise, but Netflix does not present it as a straightforward retelling of a named manga arc.
Netflix’s September 2023 article said that all 18 original manga volumes and both volumes of the sequel Alice in Borderland: Retry were in publication at that time. That is a historical publication note, not confirmation of current stock or of a particular edition. Netflix’s season announcement identifies the manga basis, while its 2023 renewal article gives the earlier publication and audience context.

Netflix credits Shinsuke Sato as director and Yasuko Kuramitsu and Sato with the screenplay; Yutaka Yamada composed the music. The production credits name ROBOT as producer, with production cooperation by THE SEVEN. Netflix Media Center and Netflix’s announcement provide the official credits.
What Netflix’s earlier audience figures do—and don’t—say
Netflix reported strong historical results for the first two seasons in its September 27, 2023 renewal article: Season 2 accumulated 200 million worldwide viewing hours in its first four weeks, which Netflix then described as the highest for any title from Japan. Season 1 reached the Netflix Top 10 in more than 70 countries; Season 2 reached it in over 90 countries, ranked No. 1 in 17 countries, and held the top position in Japan for 14 consecutive days. These are Netflix-reported figures for Seasons 1 and 2, not Season 3 performance data. Netflix’s 2023 renewal announcement is the source for those dated figures.
