Alexandre Frota said he dated singer Marisa Monte in an October 2021 interview on the Love Treta Podcast. He recalled meeting her in Rio de Janeiro through Miguel Falabella’s production of Rocky Horror Show. The relationship account comes from Frota; the reports do not independently confirm it or include a response from Monte.
What Frota said
In the interview hosted by Rafael Cortez, Frota said of Monte, “Ela foi minha namorada, ninguém sabia” (“She was my girlfriend; nobody knew”). He also said, “A gente namorou durante um tempo” (“We dated for a time”). The latter gives no exact duration, and the published accounts do not specify when the relationship began or ended. How he said they met
Frota said he met Monte in Rio while she was involved with Miguel Falabella’s production of Rocky Horror Show. UOL placed the first meeting in his account in 1982. That date refers to the meeting as reported, not to a confirmed start date for a romance.
What he recalled later
In a June 2023 account, UOL reported that Frota recalled the relationship again and described it as something from when they were young. He also recounted meeting Monte through Falabella’s production. This later retelling is still Frota’s account, rather than independent corroboration. Music-career context
UOL and Quem report that Monte’s debut album, MM, was released in 1989; UOL connects her nationwide success with “Bem Que Se Quis.” This chronology gives context to Monte’s career, but it does not establish or substantiate Frota’s account of a relationship.
