En una entrevista publicada por People en Español el 13 de junio de 2023, Alejandra Espinoza habló de sus «grandes amores» —su esposo, el coreógrafo Aníbal Marrero, y su hijo Matteo— y de los viajes que su familia planeaba hacer ese verano. Esos planes incluían Puerto Rico, Barcelona, Italia, un crucero y un viaje con sus padres; son declaraciones de 2023, no una agenda actual.

En la entrevista, Espinoza se refirió a Marrero y a Matteo como el centro de su vida: «Para mí Aníbal y Matteo son mi vida entera». También explicó que piensa en ellos al tomar decisiones sobre su trabajo y que quería que se sintieran orgullosos de lo que hacía en televisión.
La familia también definía cómo se entendía en casa. «En casa soy su mamá», dijo, enumerando las rutinas cotidianas que compartía con Matteo, desde despertarlo y prepararle la comida hasta leer y hacer tareas con él. La entrevista consignó que Matteo tenía 8 años en ese momento; esa edad corresponde a la publicación de 2023.
Qué viajes planeaba para el verano de 2023
Espinoza contó que viajaría a Puerto Rico con su familia antes de participar como conductora en Premios Juventud. La gala de ese año estaba anunciada para el 20 de julio de 2023 en el Coliseo de Puerto Rico y celebraba su 20.º aniversario, según la entrevista.

Además de Puerto Rico, mencionó Barcelona e Italia, un crucero y un viaje con sus padres. No presentó un itinerario completo ni precisó fechas para cada destino; eran viajes que esperaba hacer durante las vacaciones escolares de Matteo.
Por qué concentraban los viajes en verano
Espinoza explicó que el calendario escolar de su hijo había cambiado la forma de organizar las escapadas familiares. «Antes viajábamos mucho durante el año, nos tomábamos una semanita en enero, pero ahora con Matteo en la escuela no podemos hacer nada y todos los viajes que queremos hacer se concentran en el verano», contó a People en Español.
