Leila Roker, daughter of television personality Al Roker, announced her engagement to Sylvain Gricourt on March 2, 2025, after he proposed during a surprise trip to Venice. The couple later married in Paris on May 9, 2026, and celebrated again in New Jersey on May 23, 2026.
When did Leila Roker announce her engagement?
Leila shared the news on March 2, 2025. According to her account reported by Swooon, Gricourt had surprised her with a trip to Venice and proposed two days before her announcement. Vogue’s later profile also places the proposal in February 2025, after the couple had been together for about seven years.
In a public congratulatory post quoted by Swooon, Al Roker wrote: “We could not be happier, and look forward to planning for these two wonderful young folks coming together.”
Who is Sylvain Gricourt?
Gricourt is Leila Roker’s husband. The couple met at a bar in Paris in January 2018, according to their interview with Vogue. Their relationship later led to the Venice proposal and their 2026 wedding celebrations.

How did Sylvain Gricourt propose?
Gricourt proposed during dinner in Venice, according to the couple’s account in Vogue. He had also asked Al Roker and Deborah Roberts for their blessing during a visit to Paris at Christmas 2024, Vogue reported, attributing that detail to Gricourt.
Are Leila Roker and Sylvain Gricourt still engaged?
No. They married in Paris on May 9, 2026, then held a second celebration in New Jersey on May 23. Vogue reported that they wanted to celebrate in both France and the United States. The Paris events included a civil ceremony at the town hall in the 17th arrondissement, a church ceremony at Église Saint-Odile, and a reception at Le Manoir de Gressy outside the city. Their New Jersey celebration took place at Pendry Natirar.
