At the final night of her ten-show Munich residency on August 31, 2024, Adele told the audience she had ten more Las Vegas shows to perform and then would not see them “for an incredibly long time.” She said she needed rest and wanted to live the life she had spent the previous seven years building. The Los Angeles Times reported her remarks.

The statement was an intention to take a break after the residency, not a timeline. Adele did not say how many months or years she would be away, nor did she announce a specific next performance.
Why Adele said she wanted time away
Adele’s August remarks followed a similar comment in a ZDF interview in July 2024. She said she wanted a big break after her residencies, had no plans for new music at that time, and was interested in trying other creative things. ZDF reported the interview.

Her comments also reflected a preference for a more settled life while raising her son. In coverage of the final Las Vegas show, the Los Angeles Times reported that Adele had described choosing a residency rather than a world tour as a way to maintain more normality for him. When the Las Vegas residency ended
When Adele spoke in Munich, the remaining “Weekends With Adele” performances at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace were scheduled from October 25 through November 23, 2024. Those dates are historical: the final show took place on November 23 and was the residency’s 100th performance.

At that final show, Adele said, “I don’t know when I next want to perform again.” She also reassured the audience: “Of course I’ll be back, the only thing I’m good at is singing.” Her words expressed an intention to return someday, but did not establish a schedule. Adele did not announce a permanent retirement. Her statement that she would be away “for an incredibly long time” described an open-ended break, and her later comment that she would be back points away from treating it as a retirement announcement. Neither comment gives a comeback date.
