Adam Lambert said in a March 2024 Instagram Live that he had been taking Mounjaro for about eight months and had lost “almost 60 pounds.” The figure and explanation come from secondary reporting of his remarks, not independent confirmation of his treatment or weight change.
What Adam Lambert said about losing weight
In March 2024, Lambert reportedly told viewers on Instagram Live: “I’m dropping some tea on you guys right now! I’ve been on Mounjaro for the last, I think, eight months and I’ve lost almost 60 pounds. I feel amazing.” Life & Style also attributed to him the comment: “I still eat, but I eat lighter, and I eat less.” Life & Style’s report is the source for those remarks. The original live video or an official transcript was not independently located, so the account should be understood as reported personal testimony.
What later reports said about his appearances
In November 2024, two entertainment reports revisited Lambert’s weight-loss disclosure alongside separate New York appearances. Just Jared reported on November 5 that he was seen leaving the Today studio. Life & Style’s November 6 photo timeline referred to a November 4 Good Morning America visit. These were distinct appearances, not two descriptions of one event.
How Mounjaro differs from Zepbound
Mounjaro and Zepbound contain tirzepatide, but the FDA-approved uses differ. The FDA says Mounjaro is used with diet and exercise to improve blood glucose in adults with type 2 diabetes. Zepbound, approved by the FDA for chronic weight management, is for adults with obesity or adults with overweight and at least one weight-related condition, alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.

The FDA’s November 8, 2023 announcement specified eligibility for Zepbound as a body mass index (BMI) of 30 kg/m² or higher, or 27 kg/m² or higher with at least one weight-related condition. The FDA describes the distinction this way: “Tirzepatide, the active ingredient in Zepbound, is already approved under the trade name Mounjaro to be used along with diet and exercise to help improve blood sugar (glucose) in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.” The FDA’s announcement explains that Zepbound is the brand approved for chronic weight management.
