As the fifth episode of Accused Season 2, it has the series’ defendant-centered anthology framework to draw on, while its appeal rests on whether Margot’s personal story can make that framework feel engaging.
What “Margot’s Story” is about
Listed as Season 2, Episode 5, “Margot’s Story” follows a widow who becomes mixed up in a dance teacher’s shady dealings and finds herself on trial. That concise setup is the available premise; it does not spell out the specific dealings or the events that bring Margot before the court. The episode runs 41 minutes, according to Sony LIV and Apple TV.
How it fits the Accused format
Accused is an anthology: Sony Pictures describes each installment as a distinct crime story with an original cast, told from the defendant’s point of view. FOX describes a courtroom opening that uses flashbacks to show how the case came about. Those are useful expectations for this episode, but they do not by themselves establish how effectively “Margot’s Story” handles its structure. Its central review challenge is to make the path from an ordinary activity to a criminal case understandable while keeping the focus on the person facing judgment.
Cast and credits
Apple TV lists Debra Winger as Margot, Mercedes Ruehl as Connie, and Christine Ebersole as Deb. Milan Cheylov directed the episode, with Howard Gordon and Daniel Pearle credited as screenwriters on Rotten Tomatoes. The three named performers give the story a strong ensemble foundation; the listing information alone, however, is not evidence for specific performance details.

Critical response
The small critical sample available on Rotten Tomatoes is mixed: the page displays two critic reviews. Brittany Frederick of CBR rated the episode 7/10 and called it atypical for the series, adding, “and that’s why it falls short of the show’s high standards.” Jasmine Blu of TV Fanatic rated it 3/5 and placed it nearer the weaker side of a mixed season. Those are individual assessments, not a broad consensus or an audience measure.
Release date and where to check
Apple TV and Rotten Tomatoes list November 19, 2024, as the episode’s release date. Apple TV’s US listing gives a 41-minute runtime.
