Checking a Boulton before you buy
The 2023 sources confirm the film connection. They do not establish which current reference matches the prop, or what is in stock today, so treat any listing with the name “Boulton” as unverified until you have checked the following:
- The exact reference number, not just the model name.
- Case dimensions and shape, movement type, and dial and strap details, compared against the specific reference you are considering.
- Whether you want a current production watch or a vintage example, since condition and provenance differ.
- Regional availability and the seller’s terms.
The Patek Philippe store lawsuit
The episode links to a WatchPro article headlined “Patek Philippe Store Sued After Customer Claims He Was Duped.” A WatchPro issue from July 2023 reports the suit at $500,000. That figure is the amount claimed in the reported suit. It is not a market statistic about waitlists, and it is not a finding of liability. The sources available do not establish a court outcome or whether the customer’s claims are true. The “waiting game” in the title refers to the store waitlist that is the subject of the complaint, not to any general wait-time data.
