Quinta Brunson filed to divorce Kevin Anik in Los Angeles on March 19, 2025. The petition reportedly cited irreconcilable differences. In September, a report said the couple had reached an uncontested settlement and asked a judge to make it final; the available reporting does not independently confirm that a final judgment was entered.

What Quinta Brunson’s divorce filing said

Brunson filed the petition on March 19, 2025, in Los Angeles. Contemporary reports said it cited irreconcilable differences. The initial filing did not state a separation date. Reporting also said Brunson and Anik had no children together.

The petition reportedly referenced a postnuptial agreement for dividing property. The agreement’s terms were not disclosed in the contemporaneous coverage, so the public reporting does not establish how assets were allocated.

How long were Quinta Brunson and Kevin Anik married?

Brunson and Anik became engaged in 2020. ABC News reported that they married on October 5, 2021; other coverage described the wedding as taking place in October 2021. The March 2025 filing came more than three years after their wedding.

What is known about the reported settlement?

A September 22, 2025 report said Brunson and Anik had reached an uncontested settlement agreement and asked the court to make it final. That update was published by Yahoo as a republication of People reporting based on court documents. The available reporting does not independently verify that the judge entered a final divorce judgment, so the settlement should not be described as a confirmed final divorce.

What Brunson has said about publicity and privacy

In a July 2025 Bustle interview, Brunson objected to coverage characterizing the filing as an announcement. “I remember seeing people be like, ‘She announced her divorce,’” she said, adding, “I didn’t announce anything.” The Los Angeles Times reported her comments and quoted her saying, “I think people have this idea that people in the public eye want the public to know their every move. None of us do. I promise you.”

Earlier, at the 2022 Emmy Awards, Brunson thanked her husband during her acceptance speech for outstanding writing for a comedy series for Abbott Elementary, calling him “the most supportive man I’ve ever known.”

What the filing does not reveal

  • It does not explain the personal reasons for the breakup; “irreconcilable differences” is the reported legal ground, not an account of what happened between the couple.
  • The initial filing did not provide a separation date.
  • Public reporting reviewed here did not disclose the postnuptial agreement’s terms or the terms of the reported settlement.
  • The reported request to make the settlement final is not, by itself, confirmation that a final judgment was entered.
