That is Chatfield’s account of her relationship history, not an independently verified record of every relationship.
What Abbie Chatfield said
PerthNow reported on 8 February 2024 that Chatfield discussed monogamy during an appearance on Remy Kassimir’s How Cum podcast. The report says a video of the exchange was shared on the podcast’s Instagram. It quotes Chatfield saying: “I was giving it a go – the whole monogamy thing, I hadn’t ever done it as an adult,” and reporting that she had “only been open.” PerthNow’s report also recounts her comments about openness feeling natural to her and about discussing sex with other people with partners.
How her earlier relationship announcement fits
In a 14 February 2022 episode of her podcast, “Konrad And I Are Springin It On Ya: We’re OPEN,” Chatfield and Konrad Bien-Stephens announced that they were opening their relationship. The Apple Podcasts episode listing and description provide that earlier public context. It does not establish the details of every relationship Chatfield had as an adult.
What later coverage does—and does not—establish
ABC News reported in November 2024 that Chatfield said she and Adam Hyde share only a small portion of their relationship publicly. ABC’s interview coverage also includes her personal advice that boundaries can vary by partner and that people should understand what they are comfortable with and communicate it. That is her advice, not clinical guidance.
#1 Best Overall
A June 2026 Guardian interview identifies Hyde as Chatfield’s partner. Neither that interview nor the ABC coverage establishes the couple’s current relationship agreements. The 2024 podcast remarks should therefore be read as an account of Chatfield’s adult relationship history, not as a statement of her current relationship structure.

“Hasn’t had a monogamous relationship as an adult” is a summary of Chatfield’s personal account in that interview. It is not a finding about other people or a basis for generalizing about non-monogamous relationships.
