There is no verified evidence that a Netflix-style reality show about data exists, that Netflix made or distributes one, or what its contestants, rules or prizes would be. The only traceable source is a 2022 article with the same title, published on HackerNoon under a Bright Data byline. The page we could access shows the headline, date and author description, but not the article body.
What the source actually establishes
Only a few facts can be stated with confidence:
- Title: “A New Netflix Style Reality Show for People Who Love Data.”
- Publisher and byline: HackerNoon, with Bright Data credited as the author. The page is dated September 29, 2022.
- Author description: Bright Data describes itself as a company that lets users retrieve data through data collection and ready-made datasets. This is the company’s own positioning, not independent information about the show.
The accessible page contains no statistics, no quotations from named people, and no reference to any official document. Nothing in it can be used to describe the show’s format.
What is not established
- Netflix involvement. The phrase “Netflix style” appears in the headline only. It describes a format style, not a commissioning, licensing or distribution relationship.
- Format details. We cannot confirm whether the piece describes a competition, a documentary series, a concept pitch or a marketing exercise, nor any challenges, datasets or prizes.

How to check whether a show like this exists
If you came across this title and want to know whether it is a real programme, these checks separate a real series from a headline or marketing piece:

- Check the Netflix Tudum news pages for announcements of new unscripted series from the relevant year. Official press releases are the strongest evidence of a commission.
- Look for the original article’s full text. If it is not retrievable, do not rely on the headline alone to describe the format.
- Treat vendor-authored content with care. When a company that sells data services publishes a piece on data enthusiasts, the piece may be a content-marketing article rather than a report on a broadcast.
Bottom line
The title is traceable to a 2022 Bright Data article on HackerNoon, but the premise, participants and any Netflix link remain unverified. Until an official Netflix listing or a full copy of the article can be checked, this should be treated as an unconfirmed title rather than a documented show.
