Spoilers ahead: A Minecraft Movie has two reported credits scenes. The mid-credits scene follows Vice Principal Marlene and the Nitwit; the final scene brings Steve back to his old home, where he meets Alex. Reports describe what appears on screen, not how the information first surfaced, so “leak” is not established.
What happens in the mid-credits scene?
The first scene appears during the credits. The Nitwit, who has learned to speak human, proposes to Vice Principal Marlene, and she accepts. It pays off the pair’s relationship as a brief comic moment rather than setting out a larger plot. GamesRadar+ identifies the Nitwit’s voice performer as Matt Berry.

Forbes’ scene report describes the proposal and acceptance; GamesRadar+’s report also identifies Berry.
What happens at the end of the credits?
The second scene comes at the end of the credits. Steve returns to his former home to retrieve a chest. The person now living there introduces herself as Alex, the other default player character in Minecraft. GameSpot’s ending explanation and Forbes both describe the reveal.

Does Alex’s appearance confirm a sequel story?
No. Alex’s appearance opens the door to more Minecraft characters and settings, but the scene itself does not establish her future role or a particular sequel plot. In GameSpot’s April 3, 2025 report, director Jared Hess said, “I mean, there’s so many biomes, so many crazy, amazing characters and creatures we haven’t even touched on.” The same article quotes Torfi Frans Ólafsson, senior director of Minecraft entertainment and online: “In all seriousness, not only do we have other dimensions, other mobs, but also other ways of playing Minecraft, because Minecraft is played in so many ways, by so many people.” Those comments point to creative possibilities, not confirmation of a specific storyline.

Stay through the credits if you want to see both scenes: the Marlene–Nitwit moment is mid-credits, and Steve’s meeting with Alex is at the end. The official A Minecraft Movie site lists the film’s theatrical release as April 4, 2025, in North America and April 2, 2025, internationally; it also lists 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD formats for home viewing.

For sequel context, the Associated Press reported that Warner Bros. announced a sequel planned for July 2027, while no official plot or cast had been revealed in that report. A planned date is not a guarantee of the final schedule, and the announcement does not make Alex’s role in a future film certain.
